UndergraduateMy bachelor's degree was a journey, one that I'm proud of. As a non-traditional student, I completed my undergraduate degree in 2015, from the University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts in Fine Arts and an Afro Studies minor.
Master'sI wanted to give back to the students of color and create equitable spaces for success in higher learning institutions. I decided to pursue a graduate degree in Multicultural College Teaching and Learning from the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota. I completed my graduate degree in 2019.
DoctorateIn Fall 2023, I will be joining the new cohort of American Studies doctoral students at the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota. My research interests are guided by the intersections of American Blackness, artistic expression, social justice, and histories of racial qualifying in the United States. I aim to explore and interrogate racial taxonomies and stratification using interdisciplinary methods.
